friends teamed up to put together a photo exhibition that would have some live beats to accentuate their different points of view. what transpired is a micro global variety of themes that actually work.
both joe a. maffia and chris beauchamp lean towards a documentary style of photography that intimately captures the lives of others. through their use of color and texture, jessica maffia and mica d'orléans have more of an abstract approach, while julio a. gonzalez uses a tilt-shift technique that adds a surreal element to his images, and nicely merges all three styles together.
the works of these five photographers combined with the dynamic live electronica/beats of phrase adds a refreshing contemporary urban feel to this group show.
