after a three-year hiatus, gallery-zero.com is a back up and running.  it is a quarterly e-magazine that began in 2005 as a showcase for family and
friends.  it was my way of celebrating my first juried show in san francisco.  after a while i decided to use it as a curatorial practice on myself, friends
or other artists whose works i admired.  so now gallery-zero.com, aka g0.com, is a e-magazine promoting the arts.

BIO
mica d'orléans studied journalism at friends world college and long island university's brooklyn
center. she later transferred to new york university’s tisch school of the arts where she received
a BFA for film production. turning her attention to photography and mixed media, ms. d'orléans
began exhibiting her works in 1988. she has since shown in numerous solo and group
exhibitions in new york city, philadelphia, san francisco and france, and is a co-founder of tribes
gallery in new york city's lower east side.

STATEMENT
i strongly believe that with art you can capture a person's interest and peak their curiosity of
different cultures, races and beliefs to break down the barriers created by our news media. It is
hard for me to take a classic picture because I have no intention of repeating what I've seen or
love, so I turn to deconstruction. for instance, rearranging an image so that it is slightly off, or
looking for blurry or "bad" images to give them a picturesque quality, or idealizing the
mundane... things of that nature are what I’m trying to capture.
